Do you think Halo is wrecked?

Do you guys think they ruined halo with halo wars? I think....yes, because it is a strategy game!! Strategy games are fun and all, but Halo wars could have been alot better if it was first person shooter like the other halos, they could have added alot more action, i was really upset when i played the demo of halo wars and found out it was strategy game, it really sucked. So...what do you guys think of the new halo?Do you think Halo is wrecked?
It was meant to be a full fledged stategy game from the start. Thats why Ensemble Studios (RIP) developed it. I wasnt meant to be a sequel or in the line with the Halo trilogy. Just a game based in the Halo Universe that deepens the story a little bit, kinda what Halo ODST will do, but it will be a fps.Do you think Halo is wrecked?

Halo is still great. Halo 3 is one f the most popular games on Live and Halo Wars is a terrific game. It has became my favorite RTS.

seriously now, it was already known for like what? one year or more before it launched?people need to pay more attention. i only played the demo since im not a fan of rts on consoles but i actually enjoyed it. and as a halo fan i might just get it one of this days. so..is it an rts? :P
halo is not ruined, they just screwed up and made a rts not a fps. rts are good on computer but i realy dont like them on console.
Halo Wars was not meant to be a prequel or sequel to the FPS Halo franchise, it's just a spin-off of Halo like nate_c-12 said to deepen the story a bit just like Halo 3: ODST is going to do.
well the fact that u had to play the demo to find out it was a strategy game makes your opinion invalid in my mind

Personally, I liked Halo Wars....even though it wasnt a shooter it provided hours of quality time.
I wasn't a fan of Halo Wars personally.

I find it ironic though. The same people who complained that Halo 3 wasn't different enough complain about Halo Wars not being the same. Theres just no pleasing people.
i love halo wars. i dont think halo is any greater or lesser becuase of it. its a solid game that proves RTS can be played on home consols

They were good at Strategy games.I can respect a person disliking a Genre but you just seem more blind then opinionated. A new studio takes it in a new direcction and you hate it for no other reason then the change. If you want a first person shooter you really should have been smart enough to read up on the game online and just stick with halo. This game has been marketed as a strategy game from the start and you should have known months in advanced just based off the information on THIS site alone.Also, I thought Halo Wars was decent. Definitely not as great as other RTS games, surely not as Challenging, but nonetheless a working game with interesting gameplay for the first few goes at least.My real opinion OP is that if anything here is bad it is your current point of view on games. You need a larger list of games you will play. It really is more fun when you play more then just shooters all the time. (From your post I deduced this was the case, give or take a WRPG or two)
